The factory of the future in Magdeburg’s Port of Science became reality on September 14, 2023. Fraunhofer IFF officially opened its new research and demonstration factory.
At the Elbfabrik, business and research partner will jointly research solutions for the manufacturing of tomorrow. Advanced technologies will be developed here and quickly put into practice.
Over twenty demonstrators present the technologies that will make the manufacturing of the future possible and show how process can be controlled intelligently and connectedly.
In addition to guests from the private sector, the research community and government, Minister President of Saxony Anhalt Reiner Haseloff, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research Sabine Döring Magdeburg Mayor Simone Borris attended the grand opening.
The opening ceremony was followed by the official opening. Afterward, the roughly 500 guests saw the factory of the future for themselves and toured the Elbfabrik.
